Wu Xinghan, the late Chinese Communist Party General Secretary and chairman of the Central Military Commission, is often referred to as "the father of modern military theory." His contributions to military theory have had a profound impact on China's development in recent decades.
Wu Xinghan was born in 1925 in Tianjin, Hebei Province. He received his early education from the military academy, and later studied law at Tsinghua University. In 1946, he joined the Communist Party of China and began working for the People's Liberation Army (PLA) as a soldier. After World War II, Wu served as a general in the PLA and became a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission.
