RB Leipzig has signed German midfielder Kevin Volland from Bundesliga side FC Koln for an undisclosed fee, with the club hoping to see him have a similar impact as his predecessor in midfield, Nabil Bentaleb.

Volland, who is 22 years old and has played for various clubs including Hertha BSC, Eintracht Frankfurt, and FC Koln, was rated highly by RB Leipzig scouts and will be expected to provide much-needed creativity and skill on the left wing of their attack.

The signing of Volland comes after RB Leipzig had already made significant progress this summer, signing several high-profile players such as goalkeeper Bernd Leno, defender David Alaba, and striker Timo Werner. With these new signings, RB Leipzig now looks set to challenge for the Bundesliga title again next season.

However, despite their success so far, RB Leipzig still face stiff competition from other teams in Germany, including Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Schalke 04. To compete, they need to continue to improve and develop their squad, which includes the likes of Volland.

Overall, the signing of Volland is a big step forward for RB Leipzig, and it remains to be seen whether he can have a similar impact as his predecessor in midfield. However, given his talent and potential, there is every reason to believe that he will be able to make a significant contribution to the team's success.
